Canon Ipf 755 Service Manual

I have an ipf 755 in the field and I do not have a service manual or access to a service manual. The error is E161-403E which is a overheat error and the process is to change the printhead. I have a new print head but I am unable to access service mode.

Can anyone tell the process of entering service mode and installing a new print head after this particular error. I sure would appreciate any help customer is down needs to print proposals for bids. Please indicate exact buttons to press for service mode thanks.

Hi Boomer on the IPF machine you don't need to enter service mode to replace printhead. However to enter service mode: 1) turn off the printer power 2) turn on the power while pressing LOADkey an NAVIGATEkey keep pressing the above keys until 'INITIALIZING' is displayed 3) 'S' appears at the top right of the display 4) press the left or right arrow key to choose the SET/ADJ MENU and press OK key 'SERVICE Mode' appears in the menu list and the message led flashes. In order to clear this code you need to go into service mode, let it do its thing, booting etc. Even if it comes up with another error later of a different kind, which at that point shut it down and reboot normal. Just going into service mode will clear the error. If that dont work after replacing the head, then replace the carriage relay pcb.
